LT Afifi served as a Gunnery Officer onboard KDB AFIAT in the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN). He was born on January 16, 1995, in Brunei Darussalam.

His academic background includes the completion of the Cambridge GCE 'O' and 'A' Levels at SOAS College and Katok Sixth Form Centre, followed by the attainment of a Bachelor of Business in Economics from the University of Brunei Darussalam.

LT Afifi's military career commenced with his enrollment in Officer Cadet School Intake 18 in 2019. During his training, he undertook several specialized courses, including Special to Service Training, RBAF Service Fund, Service Writing Skills, Officer Under Training, Sub Lieutenant Course, Unit Security Officer, First Aid, and Maritime Communication Officers’ Course.

LT Afifi began his naval service as an Officer Cadet in 2019 and was promptly promoted to the rank of
Midshipman within the same year. In 2020, I was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade and served as an Officer Under Training onboard KDB IJHTIHAD. He later assumed the role of Officer of the Watch on KDB AFIAT in 2021, followed by the position of Navigation Officer onboard KDB SYAFAAT in 2023.

Throughout his career, LT Afifi have actively participated in numerous international exercises, further enhancing his professional development. These include the Maritime Training Activity SEAGULL 09/2024 with the Philippine Navy, the ASEAN Multilateral Exercise 2/2023, the ASEAN Fleet Review, the COVID-19 CHABEL 6 Task Force Unit in 2021.

Outside of his professional commitments, LT Afifi strive to maintain a well-rounded lifestyle. He is happily married to Nur Amalina binti Abd Rahim and blessed with one daughter, and in his leisure time, he engage in activities such as running, cycling, and playing badminton to maintain my physical fitness and overall well-being.
