The IFC hosted Vietnam's Deputy Minister of National Defence, Senior Lieutenant General (SLG) Nguyen Truong Thang, for a visit on 18 Sep as part of his official visit to Singapore.
SLG Nguyen Truong Thang was briefed on the IFC's role In supporting maritim security through the timely sharing of actionable information with its partners across the region.
The visit also highlighted the close and longstanding cooperation between Singapore and Vietnam in strengthening maritime safety and security. Vietnam currently has three International Liaison Officers (ILOs) deployed at the IFC, representing the Vietnam People's Navy, Vietnam Coast Guard, and Vietnam Border Guard respectively. Their deployment underscores Vietnam's strong commitment to maritime security through information-sharing and practical cooperation with regional partners.
