Teekay Tankers invited IFC for their annual 5-day security exercise for the third consecutive year, involving 40 tankers in their fleet. All vessels in the fleet completed a shipboard exercise according to the scenario provided and shared their learnings and feedback.
During the event, Teekay Tankers shared valuable insights into their implemented security measures and processes with the IFC. The IFC provided feedback on the exercise scenario, reaffirming Teekay Tankers' continuous efforts against MARSEC threats.
Discussions also addressed the mitigation of drone threats, a significant topic of conversation in light of recent industry incidents. Additionally, our EU/FR and US International Liaison Officers (ILO) shared insights into the MARSEC situation in other areas, including the Gulf of Aden (GoA) and Gulf of Guinea (GOG).
