Commander Maritime Security Task Force (MSTF) / Maritime Security (MARSEC) Command RADM Ng Xun Xi hosted His Excellency Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal Al Thani, Qatar Minister of State for Interior Affairs for a visit to the IFC on 29 Apr.
During the visit, His Excellency was briefed on the IFC's role in facilitating timely information sharing and enhancing maritime security, as well as the importance of strong partnerships and trusted channels in addressing transnational maritime threats. The delegation also agreed on the importance of engaging the shipping industry to better understand their concerns, given their role as key stakeholders in the maritime domain. Both sides explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation and information sharing between the IFC and Qatar's maritime entitiesmwith Qatar expressing interest to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, and eventually deploying a Liaison Officer to the IFC.
The visit reaffirms Qatar's commitment towards strengthening international collaboration and building trust to address evolving security challenges.
