The IFC and OSM Thome recently conducted our first ship security drill on 23 October. Since the merger of OSM and Thome Ship Management in July 2022, the IFC and OSM Thome have regularly collaborated on initiatives such as participation in the voluntary Community Reporting (VCR) and Shared Awareness Meetings (SAMs).
During the drill, information was shared between the IFC, OSM Thome, and the bulk carrier MOUNTITA to simulate an unauthorised boarding off Batam.
The IFC extends its gratitude to Capt. Tarun Puri, General Manager Group Security and Environmental Compliance OSM Thome, and his team for inviting the IFC to participate in the drill. The IFC looks forward to continued collaboration with them to further enhance ship security in the region.
