The IFC and ReCAAP ISC renewed our bilateral Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on 22 Oct 2026 at the sidelines of the ReCAAP ISC Shipping Dialogue. It was signed by Head IFC, SLTC Lester Yong, and Executive Director ReCAAP ISC, Mr Vijay Chafekar.
Originally signed in December 2009, the SOP has been updated to strengthen the arrangements between both centres for information-sharing and coordination on piracy and sea robbery incidents.
As ReCAAP ISC marks its 20th anniversary this year, the signing of the renewed SOP also reflects the shared commitment and importance of our longstanding partnership to combat sea robberies and piracy in our region.
