On 7 Oct 2025, the IFC hosted delegates from the Maritime Leaders' Programme (MLP), an initiative organised by the Emirates Shipping Association (ESA). The MLP is an executive programme for UAE maritime leaders to engage with industry stakeholders, broaden their perspectives, and support the sector's growth. This visit marked the IFC's first engagement with the UAE shipping industry. During the visit, IFC provided an overview of its role as the regional information-sharing hub, highlighting its extensive linkages and ability to cue operational responses. Both entities also discussed on key MARSEC concerns such as sea robbery, maritime terrorism, and emergency response coordination, including medical evacuation in high-risk waters. The IFC emphasised the importance of timely incident reporting and industry collaboration to enhance situational awareness and operational response. We thank ESA for their active participation and look forward to continued cooperation in safeguarding global maritime trade.
